2016-08-11: Rome to Paris (Feast of St Clare)

We left Rome after we checked out from the hotel. We were to fly from Rome to Paris. Instead of taking a taxi, we decided to take the Metro to the airport. The plane ride was uneventful until we reached the hotel.

I am not impressed with the hotel. It was cramped and quite dirty. Thankfully, we were just to stay two nights. Some pluses for the hotel is it is about a 5 minute walk to a major Metro station and it is right beside a church and of all the names it can have, it is dedicated to St Lawrence the Deacon. More of this later.

When we arrived, our daughter took us to Sacre Couer. I thought is was like an ordinary church but you have to walk quite a long way to get there.

I wanted to take pictures but there was Eucharistic adoration so picture taking is not allowed. On descending down the steps, we were met by some people who wanted to put a rope bracelet on my children's hands. I am not sure why they want to do that but we managed to brush them aside without much problem. It was quite scary considering we cannot speak their language and they were quite aggressive.

We called it a day after we descended the stairs of the church.
