2016-08-17 Northampton

We went to mass at the Sacred Heart Church in Northampton. It is at Weston Favel, very close to the shopping mall of that area. It is a strange church because it is designed as a pyramid. But then, mass is mass.

The inside has drawings depicting the passion of Jesus.
After mass, we went to the mall to buy stuff for home. We had lunch and then went out to see the town centre. We went to the shoe museum. It is an interesting tour. There was a collection of different kinds of shoes through history.

I learned that Northampton used to be the major shoe producer in England. They lost this distinction as more competitors enter the market after WWII.

We stayed there until it was time to close. We then walked a little further and toured another part of the city.

Then we had dinner, my first fish and chips in England. For some reason, it tastes different from the one I have in Victoria. The fish and batter are not greasy and so is the fries.
